In October 2022, the SIMBA project achieved its third milestone – Selection of the electroactive materials. In the first two years of the project, some of main activities focused on the material development (WP2), e.g. of the anode and cathode materials, as well as polymer electrolyte for SIBs. The result of many months of work and collaboration between the WP2 partners (KIT, TUDa, Altris, IFE, JM) was the preparation and final submission of the deliverables D2.1 (ceramic anode optimization, TUDa), D2.2 (hard carbon anode optimization, IFE), D2.3 (Prussian white cathode optimization, Altris) and D2.4 (layered oxide cathode optimization, JM) and based on those deliverables the selection of the electroactive materials for further scale up was made and as such the achievement of SIMBA’s third milestone!
